Look what @shouldhavezagged.com made for me! FPP is not one of my skills, but it sure is one of hers! It’s incredibly made and the way she “signed” it with the additional lettered section is *chef’s kiss*
She agreed to use scraps from a quilted curtain that I made so that it will go in that room perfectly. I am currently deciding pillow or wallhanging but either way it’s going to be an awesome addition to my Grinch holiday decor!

Pros of the #Grinch1966 version:
It's only 30 minutes long, amazing hand-drawn animation by Chuck Jones, narration by Boris Karloff, and Thurl Ravenscroft (aka "Tony the Tiger") does the best "You're a Mean One, Mr Grinch". The "Trim Up the Tree" polka also slaps.
Also, did I mention it's only 30 minutes?
Cons: The Grinch is "too mean" to Max, in the opinion of our test audience (one 3 y/o), rendering him unambiguously and irredeemably a Bad Guy. She just didn't buy the face-turn from someone who drags his dog around by the tail to pillar of the community, and I have to admit she has a point there.
The kid is currently on a big Grinch kick, so we're (apparently) spending school break watching all three Grinch movies on infinite repeat.
Which means I now have Strong Opinions I never thought I'd have about the Grinch Cinematic Universe in its various incarnations.

I saw the Grinch today for the first time today.
It was ok. I was hoping it would be a classic..
My gripes are,
When they spoke in rhyme it was great , everything else was mostly meh. I haven't read the book but it feels like it was meant to be done in rhyme all the time.
The redemption felt forced. How did the 'dad' finally get the message his daughter was trying to tell. I mean that's the key part of the movie and he just 'gets' it suddenly.
I didn't buy it.
Also the girl that had a crush on him was an utter wimp. She left him alone for years and then suddenly had the courage to ask him out based on how sexy she thought he still was.
On the positive side I liked Jim Carrey:s expressions and his relationship with dog. He was the highlight. Antony Hopkins as narrator was a great choice too.

Friends, I don’t know how I lucked out. I had the notion to take a walk this afternoon, #Christmas Day, but I dawdled, thinking I’d finish watching an interesting TV show. Suddenly, 15 min before the end, I had the urge to go out. I headed to Sophia Square, hoping #Ukraine’s national Christmas tree would be lit, although it was still daylight. Maybe it wouldn’t be since there’d been 3 nationwide attacks on energy infrastructure today, & emergency power outages had been introduced. But just as I arrived and was thrilled to see the tree lit, so also arrived the stars! ✨ 🌟✨ OMG what a sight, what a sound: a throng of Ukrainians carrying homemade stars & singing carols! It reminded me of the scene in How The #Grinch Stole Christmas, when the Whos, despite having been robbed of so much, assembled in the square around the star of their faith to celebrate the meaning of Christmas in their community. 💗 I followed the procession to Maidan Nezalezhnosti. What a wonderful celebration! 💙💛
