Kollege von mir hat für sein stylisches Fahrrad (Alu-Schutzbleche mit aufgesetztem Licht vorne) Spike-Reifen gekauft.
Passen natürlich nicht, da das Schutzblech versteckte Verstärkungsprofile hat, die bis knapp an den Sommerreifen reichen.
Glück für mich, konnte ihm die Reifen abkaufen und auf meinem Alltagsrad montieren.
Abstand passt, da hat sogar noch der Schnee Platz, der am Reifen anhaften wird.
Heute wird eingefahren.

@kelbot Took my first ride on the RadRover 6+. Went into town, about 13.5 miles each way. Also it was 20F / -7C. Thankfully I still had my #icebiking gear from years ago, and the LiIon battery seemed to do OK (I had kept it indoors overnight). This was incredible! I found it was very nice to set a suitable assist level and hover at max speed 20MPH. If I felt like adding muscle, it just backed off and I could maintain (or exceed) speed. And I could just bedal less hard and it'd maintain!
@kelbot AND, it feels great to be getting more exercise while also going gasoline-free!
I was planning to ride it into town Wednesday morning (13 miles each way) but it's going to be 25 and I'm not quite ready to get back into #icebiking yet! Though I certainly did back in the day before I worked from home.
#Bicycle commuting? More like icicle commuting! I feel like the queen of #icebiking after riding to my partner's house today. It really wasn't far though and most of the route was wet slush, not snow.
Still worried about my chain and gears. Cleaning them after every ride is a PITA so I want to jerry rig some kind of chain case to protect it. Wish I had a Dutch 8 speed.
