Er passe fornøyd med at Skottlandturen til våren er i boks. Først Glasgow og så whiskyfestival på #Islay. Jadda!! 🏴
The Round Church, in a magnificent location at the head of the village of Bowmore's Main Street on the Isle of Islay. It was built in the 1760s with, it is said, no corners for the devil to hide in. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/islay/roundchurch/index.html
The magnificent Kildalton Cross in the south-eastern corner of Islay: Scotland's finest intact early Christian high cross. Beautifully preserved and standing 2.65m high by 1.32m wide, it was carved towards the end of the 700s. More pics and images: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/islay/kildalton/index.html
nuair a tha mi fhìn nam sheasamh
aig ceann Loch an Dala
’s mi a’ coimhead thar cuain geur
a’ deàrrsadh ’s a’ deàlradh

Made a longtime dream come true this week, finally made it to #Islay. I’ve been blowing through my film faster than expected (as well as shooting plenty on my mirrorless), so I am really looking forward to developing and scanning them!
This pic is from my phone - I haven’t sorted through all the digital images yet either, that will take some time.
Lonely Kilnave Chapel, close to Loch Gruinart on the north side of the Isle of Islay, and its weather-worn 1300-year-old cross. The chapel was the site of an atrocity committed during the Battle of Traigh Ghruinneart in 1598. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/islay/kilnave/index.html

I rarely drink anymore. A bonus that the whole range of emerging non-alcoholic beverages – beers in particular – has been a lot of fun.
When I do have a rare taste of something 'hard' that makes it a particularly special event.
#SingleMalt Scotch is such a treat! In decades past I've sampled a wide range of Scotland's best, and came to have a few particular favourites.
This evening it's a dram of #Bowmore. I've really gotta visit #Islay some day. Several of the best ones are from there.
Finlaggan near Port Askaig on the Isle of Islay. This is an enormously important place in the history of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. During most of the 1300s and 1400s it was the administrative centre of the Lords of the Isles. More pics & info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/islay/finlaggan/index.html
The pretty village of Portnahaven, standing near the western tip of the Isle of Islay on the Rhinns of Islay, the peninsula that wraps around the north side of Loch Indaal as it takes its huge bite out of the west side of the island.
