In celebration of the upcoming , we’re recognizing one of the most iconic American athletes, .

Owens, an American track and field star, won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games, famously challenging Hitler’s myth of Aryan supremacy.

In a 1979 interview with Iowa Public Television, Owens reflected that he had bigger things to focus on: making his dream come true.

The Jefferson branch of the Cleveland Public Library hosted the CIFF Black History Month Short Film Program, showcasing three local documentaries:
