Since the last appearance of Kai Winding & J.J. Johnson, the pair broke up on good terms, and this is from their first reunion in 1960.

They're joined by Bill Evans (piano), Paul Chambers or Tommy Williams (bass), and Art Taylor or Roy Haynes (drums).

I'm rewatching the 1962 film "Mondo Cane" while writing about #KaiWinding 1963 album "Mondo Cane #2". The title for the article is "The Worst Jazz Album Creed Produced?"

I'm guessing few Americans have seen the film, the title song/theme for which is "More" which Winding had a #8 in the Billboard August 1963 charts. The youtube comments for the original soundtrack are hilarious, considering the content of the film.

Another little gem from Dad's collection - and something I haven't encountered before: what looks to be a quintet led by...two trombonists. Anyway, this mono 1955 Bethelem "East Coast Jazz" release bops right through a set of standards in fine style.

Always interesting to see how the labels would try to come up with striking images to grab your attention in the racks, too.
