This is a good thing. I'm so glad that the military/government is finally willing to acknowledge and apologize for their role in history. We are on our way to being better.

English (the language I learned first) has some catch-all verbs, but Lingít (Indigenous language of the Pacific Coast) has many varied verbs

bringing an empty container <<Haat tán wé gúx'aa. >>
is not the same as bringing a full one that might spill <<Haat sa.ín wé gúx'aa. >>
nor a towel <<Haat áx̱ wé jig̱wéinaa. >>
a skein of yarn <<Haat jikatí wé kakéin. >>
is not the same as a pile of yarn << Haat jiksatí wé kakéin. >> Ah the beauties of human culture! #lingit #KnowItTeachIt

Ax̱ éesh, Yanshḵu.oowú, wearing the Marmot hat, that hat of his father’s grandfathers! He is Kaagwaantaan and Teeyhíttaan yádi, a true child of the land!

A Tlingit elder man dances on stage. He wears an ancient, carved wooden hat and a goat hair, woven chilkat robe. He hides his face behind the robe with his arm so that only his eyes are visible. He faces the cameraman, back to an audience of Alaskan natives.
