I’ve been digging harder and harder into AI, mostly regarding historical information and synthesizing ancient history and language.
What it has come to remind me of was 46 years ago in 1980 at Cal Poly when I was submitting card decks to the big computer behind the wall.

With some help from the SZE community, I can now log my service uptime and latency in #Db2 using #Golang !
I've got a service called CompInvZ which links into my Db2Z host to find services, then it periodically tries to connect and records the result back to DB2
A friend of mine took it a step further and is using #ISPF to interact with Db2 via #REXX
That means #CICS is next on the list, thanks #Walmart !

has anyone made a USB punched card reader? It should work with Hercules easily enough, and them I could use my old backups of Assemler XF macro source code again :-)

I'm not quick yet (keep referring to docs for "is it index(needle, haystack) or index(haystack, needle)" but already I'm writing fewer bugs than I ever did with C :-)

I'm sure they did a lot of good things. Not saying it's just due to this or anything, I'm not that deep in mainframe. But I also wanna say something with "security by obscurity". Which we all know... is no security at all.

OMW home. Bit later than most attendance's of #nluug25nj. But that's because the #PvIB had a meeting on #mainframe security afterwards in the same place that I impulsively joined.
It got me free dinner, some talks to listen to, then had some nice talks with people I'll less often run into. You never know when the knowledge comes to use. I heard you technically can write your own OS if I quote "you're crazy enough" and manage to get the hardware. The later seems the bigger issue 😏
