On #MasterSystemMonday here’s “Cyborg Hunter”. This is a 1989 action game developed by #Sega R&D2. It’s actually a reskinned version of the Japanese #MarkIII game “Chouon Senshi Borgman”. It’s one of the few #MasterSystem games that requires 2 controllers to play.

Early Sega Master System units released in the US had a small game included on the system ROM. It's not as cool as the Space Harrier music with FM synthesis included on some Japanese Mark III units, but it's at least a playable game.

This means that the SC-3000 is possibly the best way to play SG-1000 games.

(Yes, the #MarkIII can play these games and outputs RGB but the colour palette is not always displayed correctly.)

To play an SG-1000 game you simply plug it in the cartridge port and turn it on, same as the consoles. It’s possible to play using the keyboard but it’s not recommended.

It’s interesting to note that the SC-3000 will not work without a cartridge plugged in.
