my favourite minecraft modpacks are still the carefully curated ones ive checked out more recently:
- raspberry flavoured is an alternate take on minecraft focused on integrating create and other mods into the actual progression and extending the early and midgame. it controversially removes elements of the game like villagers, illagers, and the end, and reworks entire systems like enchanting. its genuinely such a fresh take on the game and i recommend everyone check it out
- society: sunlit valley is a stardew valley and slime rancher inspired quest-led modpack where you farm for things and sell them to advance in the pack. it takes things like the caverns and the selling bin and stuff from stardew and the slimes from slime rancher and integrates them perfectly. great pack, very fun
- reminiscence is a “nostaglia” modpack that avoids pandering to nostaglia-bait like a lot of other alpha/beta style packs. it tries to combine features from alpha and beta with a lot of modern features that we’re used to. its not trying to be better than minecraft or take a stance on what minecraft should have been or was supposed to be, which i really appreciate. other packs that try to be nostalgic do it in a very preachy anti-mojang way which turns me off. this one doesnt.
if anyone has any modpacks they like, let me know!! i always like checking out new ones, especially if they have some thought behind them instead of being thrown together kitchen sink style
