#multiunit

But one thing I've said many times before bears repeating: only in very limited individual circumstances should public #housing money ever be spent on #TinyHouses for #homeless people.

People deserve to live with dignity, and a tiny house cannot provide dignity in most ways for most people. Public money should be spent on #multiunit #midrise #mixeduse #apartment #buildings where people can live full-sized lives ...

It's been a long time since I've participated in the community, but I watched a video today of someone's very #TinyHouse and it got me thinking about it again.

Here's the thing: there are very few people for whom a #THoW actually makes rational sense, because they are the most inefficient use of land and #housing materials possible.

Most people should be in #multiunit #MixedUse #midrise #apartment #buildings, but for some people, THoWs can literally be life savers. #urbanism #architecture

Restrictive #zoning practices are part of the problem, but they are not by any means the primary cause of the #HousingCrisis.

Zoning alone doesn't explain why more #development and #redevelopment isn't happening in places where zoning already permits it.

These are the places that are in high demandβ€”city and town centers that already have #multiunit, #multistory, #MixedUse #MissingMiddle buildings.

The other shoes are #tax #policy and economic outlook.
