Added some details (gems, glowing eyes) and highlights, fixed some mistakes.
Finished with varnish in ultra matte AND gloss, which makes for quite a good impression IRL (not so much in the picture)

If I can get that old turntable to work again, I might add a short video sometime to show them in moving light.

I applied Agrax Earthshade yesterday and it's now the coherent grimdark fantasy look I had hoped for.
I'd call it 95% done.
Next up is putting them on their bases and maybe even out the connections a little and then some final highlights (but very sparingly).

The models are now darker and look more muted. Overall it's a coherent image.

I have made considerable progress.
It is already beyond the "quick job" that I actually wanted, but it starts to look really great from a game viewing distance

Not too much progress on the #MummifiedUndead, but the clothes and leather parts are mostly done.
Still heavily "trust the process" - I hope it will work out as planned with the wash in the end 🧐

The skeletons have teal cloth and red-brown leather parts now. It all looks heavily bleached out by an off-white drybrush

Going on with some more base colors on the #mummifiedUndead and drybrushing for highlights. They're deep in "trust the process" territory right now 😬
Also started with the dark grey base color on the #alienHives.

The 3 bases right next to each other. The creep now looks dark violet and wet (from the gloss varnish) and all have their rims painting in matte black

The 5 mummy miniatures on simple painting handles. In addition to bones and wraps, the cloth parts have now been painted in a teal color.

I have given the bases a wash with SC82 "Intense Violet".

While that is drying, it's time for more layers on my mummies' bones (SC25 Birch) and rags (SC09 Whites Sands).

I love my #Scalecolor paints, but getting decent coverage with light colors is a darned pita (which also makes them great for blending and glazing, of course...).

The mentioned bases have a wet violet covering, almost looks like a blueberry cake 🤤

The partly painted miniatures on painting handles in a tray between different painting supplies like the paints, brushes, water etc.

These will be the main ones ...
(Along with the standard stuff like leather browns, bone beige, grey for the rugs, etc.)

One of the bases close up - the brown crackle paint is broken up nicely into realistically looking pieces of dried earth

The bases, stuck to some plate, have a first coat of paint: the areas with sand or embossed greenstuff are yellow and the rest a chocolate brown.
The colors are still wet.
Behind the plate, the used colors (scalecolor SC-11 and SC-31) as well as brushes etc. are visible.

Same scene, but the brown areas are now covered with agrellan earth, which is a light brown thick paste before drying.
The yellow is completely dried.
It's standing behind the plate now instead of the colors from before ("Citadel Technical Agrellan Earth")

I recently ordered both the #OnePageRules two player skirmish physical starter sets as small #miniaturePainting projects.
I offered my partner the chance to choose a faction so that we could make it a couple activity. She chose the #Saurians from the Fantasy Box, leaving me with the #MummifiedUndead. I really like the models.

I prepared this green stuff for the bases. I think it will give a good result together with Agrellan Earth and a little sand 🏜️

Flat pieces of green stuff with hieroglyphics and other ancient Egyptian motifs embossed in them lie on a cutting mat. Next to them are two gray plastic mummy miniatures depicting various ancient Egyptian clichés in their clothing and equipment.

My skeletons fighting a horde of rat clans this afternoon.
