Looks like adding an .inspector to a NavigationSplitView on Tahoe breaks the behavior of increasing the size of the sidebar - the window increases its width going off screen. It's even funnier with an external display as the window goes from one display to the other...
Probably this issue is already known or even fixed. In any case I filed a FB (FB18278451).
