tl;dr--The student loan servicers are corrupt, ripping off former students, me included. Democrats are trying to fix it and provide some overall relief, quickly and untargeted, but Republicans and their allies on the bench are blocking the effort, and Millennials that know this are *pissed off*. 17/17

#Nelnet can get bent.

Y'all take my application and proofs of income for my #IDR Plan in September, take months to even look at it, and then have the audacity to say you don't have my proof of income and need it again?!? I can see it right there in the previously uploaded documents!

And so nice of you to not reply to my email asking about this discrepancy and instead just send me a bill for the full amount.

Only #Nelnet would ask me to provide documentation that I'm unemployed so I can get #StudentLoan relief.

I just got my student loan statement. Lololol Nelnet is fucking crazy if they think they are getting that much money from me every month. I’m going to mail the a bag of dog shit every month.

Also, fuck you #Nelnet (the company that services my #studentLoan)

The spiel callers need to listen to before they get to a place where they can punch that zero and queue up to talk to an agent is l-o-n-g. And when you click that zero, it tells you they're closed and hangs up on you. Even two hours before the listed close time. Yes, I know it's Eastern and I'm Central - I have folks on my team at work in ET and i totally know what time it is on the east coast.

Three different times last week. I'm probably safe to set up auto-pay now, but I want to change to the extended repayment plan, and there is no way to do that on their #website. Any of the options about repayment plans are: educating you about the details of your plan, comparing plans, asking you if you want to check which income-driven repayment plan is right for you, or a link to the fed's loan simulator.

My minimum monthly student loan payment with #Nelnet is 399.66$

Mmmm. Fun. I didn't even get to graduate from the college the loan is from because they axed my degree path. I am only slightly annoyed, only slightly

Hey #nelnet,

If you want your money back, the least you could do is make it a touch easier to get to my account. Waiting 30 minutes to 'verify' my new password doesn't get you your money very fast. Especially when I have to be somewhere in said time.

Sincerely yours (until I die),

Poor college grad

Today's adventure.

I was recently assigned a new #StudentLoan servicer, a #Bank called #Nelnet This was anticipated - the adventure was trying to set up an account.

Part of the account setup process is to pic a "security image" These are all monochrome thumbnails with very simple alt text ("typewriter" for example) and I'm not sure that the alt texts are unique. I called them, and spoke with someone who said to try to pick out one that I would be able to recognize. I picked the first one in the display (which was not described as "typewriter" - I was not yeeted from a turnip truck).

This is not #accessible

I went to studentaid.gov and called their toll-free number and they said i had to file a complaint on their website.

I did that, but surely, as someone working with the government, their website has to be accessible. Right?
