Over the past year, the #LifeCycles team has been taking a deep dive into reimagining what the #SeedLibrary can be. With the help of many dedicated volunteers, we’ve spent significant time sorting and organizing seeds, and we’re excited to share what’s coming next.
By the end of February, #seed #donation bins will be launched at each of #GreaterVictoriaPublicLibrary branches. The Seed Library at the Broughton branch in downtown Victoria, which will both collect and distribute seeds, is expected to be fully functional by March.
We are also shifting how #seeds are accessed at the #library to make them more #accessible and increase their reach. The Seed Library will function more like a Seed Box - prioritizing ease of access, because we believe that access to seeds—especially amid rising food costs—is an important part of local #foodsecurity.
Alongside this, we are planning to continue the Seed Library’s core work of growing out heirloom and locally adapted varieties so they remain accessible in our region. As these seeds become available, we will put these seeds into rotation in the Broughton Branch Seed Library.

More than two million bus journeys have been made by young people across Wales since the #Welsh #Government launched its £1 fare scheme in September 2025. The scheme, running until August 2026, offers single fares for £1 and day tickets for £3 to passengers aged 5–21 on participating services. #Transport Secretary Ken Skates said it was encouraging to see young people benefiting, particularly in rural areas where travel costs can be a barrier. He added that the investment is making travel more #accessible and affordable. Young people have also praised the initiative, saying it has helped them reach college, work and social activities. Most Welsh bus operators are taking part, though premium night #buses, sightseeing and long-distance coach services such as National Express and Megabus are excluded. #Transport for #London (TfL) and Santander #Cycles are inviting the public to nominate inspirational women cyclists to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March. Ten Santander Cycles will be named after a mix of professional riders and local ‘unsung heroes’, with winners chosen by a judging panel. The initiative aims to highlight female role models and encourage more women and girls to cycle, addressing barriers such as safety concerns and cost. Cycling journeys in London have risen by 43 per cent since 2019, with around 1.5 million trips made daily. TfL says continued investment in cycling infrastructure, community projects and discounted #cycle hire is helping to make #cycling more #accessible. The capital’s strategic cycle network has grown to more than 431km, alongside targeted safety improvements at key junctions.

@we_are_spc I know people who are happy with Samsung offerings, along with some from LG and Maytag. All apps are #Accessible and some units even boast touch controls that are tactile. I believe the Samsung recently mentioned was available through Costco. I hope that helps.
