I'm delighted to see that the new-ish bagel place, on Diamond Street in Noe Valley, is closing tomorrow for the National Strike tomorrow. I hope more places in my neighborhood also strike. I'm planning to not spend any money tomorrow (Fri, Jan 30) for the Strike. I'll make art for most of the day.

I found candles, and plan to head outside at 7. Hoping I see lights from neighbors too.

My sweet pup was barking all night last night. The last time he did that, we got word there coyotes roving around Noe Valley.

I'm in a part of San Francisco that has not yet lost power during the recent outage. There are other parts of the city that still do not have power from last night's outage.

This is about dogs in Noe Valley! In the last few weeks, on days we take our sweet lab up to Noe Courts Park, he's thrown up his food later that day. He's fine otherwise. So, we're thinking that something might be going on in the park somehow.

Has anyone else had this issue in Noe Valley? Our vet is puzzled.

St Paul's Church.
Saturday, October 25th, 3: 38 p.m.

A gloomy, monochrome double exposure of St Paul's Catholic Church in Noe Valley, San Francisco. Taken after the rain had stopped, while dark clouds still loom overhead.

To create this, two pictures were merged in post... two pictures taken at slightly different elevations and focal lengths. One of the pictures is dark and broody, the other ghostly and half-faded out. The result is a photograph of a stone church with multiple spires poking up into the sky.

Adding to the mood: in the foreground, a dozen spidery electrical wires, some used for the J-Church streetcar, criss-cross the sky.

I'm really pleased with the way this turned out. Threatening churches are my favorite kind of church.

The ABC Liquor License application sign in the window of the now-closed Mr Digby's at 1199 Church indicates a transfer to "GLK Noe Valley, LLC." A quick internet search confirms that Grand Lake Kitchen is opening their first San Francisco location.

On my daily walk today, there were a lot more homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk, here in Noe Valley, San Francisco.

What do I want the city to do? Give them safe shelter!!!!! We are such a wealthy city! Why are we failing to give safe shelter to those who need it!?!!!!

This is a failure of our neighborhood and city! If we can't give safe shelter, then we have all failed!
