@solene consider doing some acoustic modem stuff with like audacity.

That should yield you ~ 10 kBit/s even if you merely use 20kHz bandwith, AFSK & FEC 8/10 as well as simple bunzip2 compression...

Kinda like the #FamicomDataRecorder and ither #cassette-based systems did.

I also guess just #Nullmodem-Adapting stuff and using #UUCP would be way too easy for ya...

Say I have two #unix systems connected with a #nullmodem cable via their serial ports. I can run a #getty on one of them and use a #terminal program on the other end to log in. Is there a way to run Getty on both sides and decide later from which side I want to initiate a connection? #linux #rs232
