Last night was one of those #openmicnights where it worked ... I connected with the audience by connecting with myself, which isn't always easy. Lots of moving parts for a new #musician to master. But, wow, when it works....

Usually twice a week I go to #openmicnights — and did well before I ever even thought of performing. I’m not an accomplished or experienced #musician and it used to be daunting to perform in front of others. But I wasn’t gonna get good without doing it, and most of the other #musicians have been nothing but supportive. It’s a great little community, and we’re lucky to have listening venues nearby.
