Yesterday I picked up an #Asus EEE PC netbook (1011PX) with win10. Not a very fast machine 😁. But today I put the #PDW program on it. So #paging on a 10.1 "screen works great 👍. #hamradio #amateurradio

Tonight #PDW (pocsag paging) will continue to run on my pc main screen. According to inside information, something is going on in #Beers.

In the Netherlands, paging is mainly used in the emergency services (and a single parcel service). I finally chose a scanner with discriminator output (I use the Commtel com205). I can read everything with the #PDW program. A 3.5mm audio cable from the discriminator output to the microphone input of the computer & of course set to the correct frequency.

#PDW works great. #WACARS not yet. Place a peaked antenna outside later. Soon start to place the discone antenna outside. If PDW & WACARS run well. Then #DSD follows. For example, to receive #DMR on #HamRadio waves.

@colon_three hat tip :tophat: - I am always looking for "SAA5050" type fonts as I used them for some "retro style" displays at work that relay real time information from the on site paging system (using an #RTL-SDR and #PDW #pocsag software)
