Letzte Chance genutzt und soeben #Phantasm bei Prime gesehen. Für 1979 wirklich gut gemacht und die damalige Indizierung ist auch durchaus gerechtfertigt. Die spätere Beschlagnahme halte ich aber für übertrieben, die Neubewertung ab 16 ist berechtigt

RaVager is a real pill to try to swallow, but if you take a step back and think about how all the Phantasm movies are about something other than what is actually playing out in front of your eyes, you might find an explanation for what this movie is trying to do that has exceptional potential to be moving and interesting.

I personally think OblIVion is the most interesting of the Phantasm sequels. This would have led into a different fifth entry but the final moments of this movie is surprisingly touching and beautiful using some unused footage from the original movie.

Phantasm Month continued with the next entry in the series, Lord of the Dead. This is where the series totally gets into meta concepts and the trippy twisty-turny, time travel concepts that will either win you over forever or turn you away quick.

August 2022 became Phantasm Sequel Month. The Phantasm movies are weird. It's not like the first one couldn't have a sequel but what directions the sequels took were just as odd and took big swings like the original did. Things kicked off with Phantasm II, nearly 10 years after the original's release.

Well this is certainly not something I hoped to see anytime soon. Apparently Reggie Bannister, from the classic #Phantasm franchise, has declined in health entered hospice care.
I still need to watch Phantasm V. I love the first four films so much but I never watched part V. I was hesitant due to It being the sole film in the franchise not directed by Don cascarelli.
Perhaps it's time I give it a watch...
With the recent news of Reggie Bannister in hospice care, and it getting to the point in my usual reposting of older reviews that we were getting here, it is only proper to repost my review of Phantasm, one of the most interesting and compelling horror films from the late 70s.
