The Sydney Trains V-Set fleet is finally being retired. I have tons of photos of them, but this one really hits the mood.

A Sydney Trains V-Set InterCity train arrives at Wentworth Falls station. It's a double-deck train with fluted metal sides and yellow doors. The blunt nose is yellow too, with a dark orange section above the driver's cab. The train is emerging from the mist and the platform is wet with rain.

One of the frustrating things about being at Sydney Central station late at night is seeing those gorgeous new Mariyung D-Set trains under test with no passengers while you board an old V-Set #purpletrain.

Geez, an Uber Eats rider just got on the mountains train. Looks like someone in Linden is getting some lukewarm Thai food from Springwood some time tonight.

I nip across town on the #PurpleTrain (not pictured) and end up at Paddington. I think, screw this, I’m going for an upgrade, and spin the wheel on #Seatfrog, which grabs me a first class upgrade for £34. It’s a special occasion, so yeah, let’s do it. I rinse the first class lounge of all its red wine, have a shower, and take a massive dump in their clean lavs, and then check on #RealTimeTrains. That shows the platform before it’s announced…12/n

Right now Sydney's train system is enjoying* itself. Tree blocking the track at St Peters so that's out. A broken train at Sydney and delays due to track repairs at Penrith are blocking up Sydney Terminal.

@u0421793 Not when that diagram was made it wasn’t. The H&C one is newer, (got it at the recent LTM Depot open day) and does show #purpletrain at #Whitechapel
