If it's 10% adrift, I can live with that. But the useless meter from Amazon would reliably give one reading after a few days and then read 75% lower after a month; even lower a month after that. My guess is that the sensor worked but the time-averaging calculation was bodged. That's the kind of bug that manufacturers don't find because it takes too long to test. (Remember the 49-day crash in Windows 95?)
I'd like to be able to take several readings in different places because the previous owners of the house installed #marble worktops in a couple of rooms, and some samples of marble leak large amounts of #radon. So, if we have a problem, I need to know whether it's caused by the marble or by the geology of the area. That tells me whether to ventilate the ground floor or refit the kitchen.
Where in the UK can I buy a domestic #RadonMonitor that actually works? I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want a device that's reasonably accurate. Have you bought one of these devices and, if so, where did you get it?
(I've been burnt by #Amazon, which, last year, charged me £75 for a device that's so useless that it's now been recalled. The reviews, obviously, were fine.)
Edit: people here like #Airthings and online reviews seem good, so I've ordered an Airthings Corentium. I'll know in a couple of months whether I have a problem and what to do about it.
