I just realized that if Father Pucci's plan worked now, like it did in Stone Ocean... the rapture could have happened yesterday and none of us would realize it. So, the Rapture is still on. Apparently the #rapturetok crowd made a mistake basing their alert on the Gregorian calendar, where of course it should be based off the Julian calendar (duh!) Over the last few weeks, #Christians on #TikTok have been hyping up #RaptureTok, claiming the rapture was guaranteed to happen on September 23rd (and some even pushed it to the 24th).
Spoiler alert: it didn’t happen.
Some #believers went so far as to give away their cars, homes, and personal belongings in preparation for the so-called end of the world.
If you’re reading this, congratulations: you survived yet another scheduled apocalypse.
“RaptureTok” promised us that Jesus would punch the clock this week… Tuesday, maybe Wednesday at the latest.
But instead of vanishing into the clouds, the faithful were left with TikTok livestreams, laminated index cards for the “left behind,” and fashion influencers warning that vintage Alexander McQueen might keep you out of heaven.
Selling their cars, quitting their jobs, and saying goodbye to their children. On Tiktok, viral videos show Christians preparing for the "Rapture" predicted to take place the 23 or 24th September. It all stems from a prediction made by a South African pastor several months ago, in which he said Jesus spoke to him. For all the believers, there's also been a slew of mockery about the latest #doomsday theory, as Vedika Bahl explains in Truth or Fake.

According to Pew Research, staggering 40 per cent of Americans, including many senior leaders in the Trump administration believe in the Evangelical Christian concept of The #Rapture, which according to a prophecy handed down by some South African pastor recently, was to happen on September 23 and into September 24
And what about the stories of people selling their cars before #TheRapture. What were they going to use the money for?
