No, but really, apart from spending weekend time fixing the aftermath instead of weekday time (hey, guess what, people are still losing their evenings/overnights, nobody is fixing this only 9-5 on the clock FFS), do you really think the outcome of this update would have been different on a Wednesday?

No, things still would have crashed.
Fix the processes that allow the broken to reach production.

For anyone spouting “read-only Friday" or “never deploy on Fridays”, STFU - this would have caused an outage on any day of the week.
If you're afraid to roll out new software on a Friday, you’re afraid to roll out new software, and you should fix *that*.

Make deployments a non-event.
Make it so that someone can push new code at 4am on a Sunday morning if that's how they feel.

But grow up and stop thinking there's something special or scary about Fridays
