Out of 5 Chinese social apps checked on 15 privacy factors, RedNote the only one to fail on all 15 out of 15.
EDIT: To be clear, I have Rednote, but I made sure to use the app Shelter to install it in a separate profile on my Android phone to stop it from completely destroying my privacy

100% understand the guy! It's so comforting to know I can be understood in one part of China 😆. Apparently the Hokkien I speak is from Zhangzhou.
Tho I noticed they do use different words for somethings. Penang Hokkien has lots of loan words from English and Malay 😅

أعلنت تايوان يوم الخميس حظر تطبيق Xiaohongshu، المعروف أيضًا باسم ، لمدة عام
كامل، مشيرة إلى أنه يشكل خطر في مجال الاحتيال الإلكتروني.
وأوضحت وزارة الداخلية في بيان أن التطبيق ارتبط بنحو 1,700 قضية احتيال منذ عام
2024، تسببت بخسائر مالية تجاوزت 247.7 مليون دولار تايواني (حوالي 7.9 مليون دولار
أمريكي). وذكرت الوزارة أن عدد مستخدمي التطبيق في تايوان يتجاوز ثلاثة ملايين
مستخدم.
قالت السلطات إن الحصول على المعلومات اللازمة للتحقيقات من الشركة المالكة للتطبيق
يواجه صعوبات كبيرة بسبب عدم وجود سلطة قضائية لتايوان على الشركة.
كما أظهرت اختبارات الأمن السيبراني التي أجراها مكتب الأمن القومي أن التطبيق فشل
في جميع المؤشرات الخمسة عشر.
وطلبت وزارة الداخلية من مزودي خدمة الإنترنت في تايوان حجب الوصول إلى التطبيق
فورًا، كما دعت منصات دولية مثل جوجل إلى التوقف عن نشر الإعلانات الخاصة بتطبيق
RedNote بشكل كامل.
ونصحت الوزارة المستخدمين بعدم تحميل التطبيق أو التوقف عن استخدامه إذا كان مثبتًا
بالفعل.
من جانب آخر، انتقدت رئيسة حزب الكومينتانغ المعارض، تشينغ لي-وون، القرار واعتبرته
تقييدًا كبيرًا لحريات الإنترنت.
يشار إلى أن تايوان منعت استخدام RedNote على الأجهزة الحكومية منذ عام 2022 بسبب
اعتباره أداة دعاية صينية، وكانت قد طلبت هذا العام من الشركة المالكة اتخاذ
إجراءات تصحيحية واضحة، لكنها لم تتلق أي رد.
تجدر الإشارة إلى وجود صراح تاريخي بين تايوان والصين، حيث تعتبرها الصين جزء من
أراضيها.
