Moon Harvest is about receptivity. Not chasing, not striving—just being open to what falls into your hands. A woman stands below a golden moon. Light doesn’t beam or blaze. It drips. Softly. Like honey. Like time slowing down.
This monoprint was made in a single flow—layered on a gelli plate, with no corrections, no rehearsals. Just trust and presence. The moon gave. I printed.
Lilac and deep purple hold the night. Gold catches the eye but never shouts.
Moon Harvest is tender, quiet, and just a little bit surreal.

In addition to my work in digital photography, I deeply enjoy the craftsmanship of painting and encaustics (working with wax). These techniques bring a completely different dynamic: there is no 'undo button' like in digital editing. This unpredictability makes the process both exciting and challenging for me.
The pieces I offer here combine monoprints and painting techniques on Japanese rice paper. Rice paper is very thin and requires a delicate approach, but it offers a beautiful texture that adds a unique dimension to the artwork.

Oooh, look what I found!
Rummaging around for a blank notebook for a new project, I came upon this blank 7x9" japanese rice paper accordion book!
I got it second-hand, somewhere. It'll be easy to add the missing back cover.
なんちゃって北京ダックだよ。春餅なんて作ってられないからライスペーパーで生春巻き。鴨はエアフライヤーでロースト。キュウリとスプリングオニオンを細切りにして、ついでに残ってたコリアンダーの葉も、海鮮醬入れて巻いて超簡単さ。

My first attempt at #Vietnamese #summerRolls in ages. Filling was shredded #surimi, #rice #vermicelli, #romaine, Asian #cilantro, Asian #basil, #carrot, #cucumber, #onion, and #limeJuice, all wrapped in #ricePaper. Dips were #saté (#peanut, #coconutMilk, #chili), #sweetChili (both homemade) and #Kikkoman soy sauce.
Turned out pretty good, though I definitely need to roll them much more tightly next time.
