Some plants let their seeds be blown by the wind.
Some plants let their seeds be eaten by birds.
Some plants let their seeds be scattered or buried by small animals.
But these plants are all slackers compared to the peanut, which cuts out the middleman and grows its seeds underground in the first place.
After all, if you want a thing done properly, do it yourself, and if you want your seeds to end up in the soil, why not put them there to begin with?

I don't always pay attention to food labels but as these aren't on my normal menu I did. For the sugar, fat and salt police out there these nuts won't break the diet.
What I do find odd is that KP tells me what the nutritional value of a 30g serving is but only put 55g in the bag, I feel robbed of 5g of peanutty goodness.

A combination of diagrams, graphs and morphological images of WT and Fragrant peanut lines illustrates that targeted knockout of the betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase genes AhBADH1 and AhBADH2 using CRISPR/Cas9 produces mutant lines with significantly elevated 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline levels and a strong aroma, marking the first creation of fragrant peanut lines.

#Seed color is a key #agronomic trait--a vital indicator of both #nutritional and commercial value. Zhao et al. characterize PSC1--a basic/helix–loop–helix transcription factor controlling the purple-red testa trait in #peanut.
