I've written a thing about web maps. Mainly for myself... If others are interested, it's here

This is just wild!! Thanks to the amazing work of @kylebarron on his #python package lonboard, and @paleolimbot on nano- and geoarrow, we can now leverage blazing fast arrow data transfer from #rspatial #rstats sf types to the browser using deckgl (rendered on a leaflet map). Below is an example of more than 1 million building footprints, rendered in less than a second!! I am beyond excited about this! #sdsl

I'm really happy with this as one outcome from the Spatial Data Sciences across Languages (#sdsl) workshop in Prague this week. Not glamorous but could save time + resources: Docker images for #Rstats and #Python now ~1GB lighter than before πŸŽ‰ Thanks @prefix_dev 4 support, and please, anyone brave or with Docker/Devcontainer experience, give these a spin, nearly ready for launching cross-language #geocompx projects πŸš€ buff.ly/3zr3kPq

Looking forward to presenting on deploying code in cross-language projects in the #SDSL conference. In case you're around and interested, you can join online! Head to the website and join via the Zoom link in the Discord link, starting in 10 minutes: buff.ly/3Zqx6OU

I've got this working before and it's basic stuff, but definitely feeling a 'wow moment' getting cross-language geo equivalent of "Hello world" working with #RStats and #Python locally AND remotely with GitHub Actions + CD. Next-up #julialang? Slides: incoming! #geocompx #sdsl

Looking forward to upcoming #sdsl2024 session by @loreabad6. Excellent #reproducible slides: github.com/loreabad6/post #SDSL #geocompx.

Coinciding with the Spatial Data Sciences across Languages (#sdsl) workshop, I've released a new #opensource template for creating, auto-deploying and sharing #reproducible slides. Works with #RStats, #Python and more thanks to Quarto! See buff.ly/3zqQj8D and #sdsl talk incoming πŸš€

Loving the nascent cycle network in Prague. It's got a long way to go tho... #networks #Prague #sdsl

Genuary 2024 Day 30 Prompt:
"Shaders"

Total brainfreeze today. 🀯
I have little experience with shaders so far and could only dabble a bit.
I fed the sound volume and current time into a simple shader I wrote in SDSL with some noise and sine waves and tuned it with effects and displacement.
Had more fun with the generative tune in VCV πŸ”Š

Can't upload to masto today?

@rhrwllnrtr Ja, ich kenne das nur aus dem #SDSL-Bereich bei gewerblicher Nutzung.

Another illustration for my anime campaign. Players have very mixed feelings on this NPC, which leads to some really interesting dynamics within the party.

Illustration: Closeup of a long-haired woman with her eyes closed in meditation. She sits in a moonlit room overflowing with greenery.

Progress on my anime-inspired AP is slow going for a lot of reasons, but I'm proud of how it's shaping up so far, so I'm gonna show off a clip!

Another NPC illustration. Magnolia, a halfling leather worker who runs a shop in town. Stop by for armor, accessories, and plot hooks.

WOW. I've been working on my D&D isekai #SDSL campaign for nearly a year now, and I admit these past few months have been really stressful for me. I haven't said anything out loud because I wanted the dust to clear first, and WOW. I just- I can't believe how relieved I'm feeling right now. No idea what my next campaign is going to be, but for now I'm so happy.

Today's WIP. (Or, finished already???) Some monsters are a lot easier to draw than others.

A year ago, I asked the age-old question: What if D&D but anime? Today I put the finishing touches on the isekai campaign "Reborn as a Lvl 1 Character in a Popular TTRPG and now I have to Defeat the Demon Lord!?"

Now recording myself and some friends playing it for everyone to see. Fingers crossed it goes well!

Illustration: A promotional image featuring four characters: A young man in a leather jacket and carrying a pizza bag; a teen girl with a pink sweater and hair in afro puffs; a teen boy with a high-collared jacket and a moody glare; and a small kitten. They stand on a city street together, looking off into the distance.

Spending the day finishing NPC art for our next session. Love coming up with a character and being able to show it to the players next time we meet.
