Super happy to have my SE/30 back after it having been given the @DosFox treatment. Hugely appreciate the effort and so pleased that it should have another 30+ years in it. It is the best all-in-one classic Mac, after all 😍

I really liked that #SE30 rebuild that @thisdoesnotcomp did.
buckle up kiddos! #macse30 #vintagemac #se30
Booster 2.0 is installed! The computer boots and the network works, let's see if we do get a speed up :D
@ology Cuter when they can run After Dark, though (am waiting for mine to print a Classic) #3dprinting #classic #se30 #macintosh
Branchus Creations (Bruce Rayne) will be doing a live stream where he will be announcing our #SMC new products. Stay tuned!

I think I found my new #marchintosh computer!
got an ADB ArtPad II! I can now draw* using #mac SE/30.
This one was made with SuperPaint, and I think it's a good platform to make some graphics for a PlayDate game.

Update on my plan to use my old SE/30 as my daily machine.
I got my mail setup working on both the mac #SE30 on system 7 and the mac mini with macos 9.
I wrote a mail proxy for this https://r.bdr.sh/olden-mail.html, which I realize is probably a worse version of STunnel but might let me write some middleware.
On system 7 this works great with Mail Drop and Baton Mail, and on system 9 it works great with Eudora!
But it should work everywhere.
Anyone with an SE/30 know if it’s normal for UG6, UG7, UI6, and UH7 to be warm during use?
They’re not overly hot, but it’s enough that I’m second guessing myself that something might be shorted.
Bleh. Working on the SE/30, and I’ve confirmed continuity between the CPU and the ROM, so that’s not a problem.
Next I should do the CPU and the Glue Logic chip, but the CPU isn’t socketed, so the pins are only accessible on the bottom, and the Glue chip is surface-mount so the pins are only accessible on the top.
Annoying as heck.
Still getting a slow Sad Mac chime and the simasimac pattern on the SE/30 even with known good RAM and a little deoxit in the ROM slots. So I guess it’s time to buy an oscilloscope.
Gonna have to try Adrian Black’s serial diagnostics probably too.
On one hand, I wish this were a simpler fix. On the other hand… more problems to solve, more time with my project computer!
So the last part of Adrian's SE/30 adventure is live
I recommend this if you want see a #retrocomputing #mystery resolved…
Rebuilding an SE/30 from new parts.
Unfortunately, even after a re-cap, I still get the simasimac pattern on power on. But the sound works now, enough for me to hear a sad Mac chime. Tomorrow is troubleshooting time!

Leaky caps removed board cleaned. Y’all I’m stoked how little damage there was from the electrolyte!

I'm trying to find a small, period-appropriate #keyboard to pair with a #mac #SE30 that doesn't take a ton of space. I can't seem to find an ADB keyboard without a numeric keypad. Maybe they don't exist. Does anyone know? Are there any retro-keyboards out there that look the part? I’m OK using an ADB<->USB converter. Other ideas welcome.
The SE/30 is new to my collection. Logic board is in REMARKABLE shape. No battery damage, and only a couple of leaky caps. It powered on to the simasimac pattern, but I’ve got replacement caps on the way for the logic and analog boards, and hopefully that’s enough to get it to boot!
They’re siblings!
