Sideboard Update: the finished carcass. A couple of learning points for me cutting small pieces of glass is still a challenge! Getting the mirror and the glass shelf clean of excess glue has been seriously difficult … but all in all I am pleased with this so far. #No52 #Sideboard #DollsHouse

The bare carcass of a dollhouse sideboard with a bottle of scotch in the drinks cabinet for scale. The carcass is of light modelling wood obeche and plywood and the mirrored section is in the middle. There is no top and no doors or feet.

Having completely run out of small blocks for holding things square while glue cures. I suddenly had the idea this morning of building my own from Lego and duplo. They seem to be working very well and are quite strong. Very gentle clamping now that there’s mirror and glass in the model. The glass is a bit over-engineered but this way I don’t need any support other than the glue. #sideboard #No52 #miniatures
