#Christians are also chosen by God. Christians have no intrinsic merit or virtue so as to deserve God's love and favor.

All have #sinned and fallen short of God's glory; #God reconciled us to Himself in #Christ as a sheer gift which cannot be repaid.

Yet Christians are also called upon to make every effort to be sure of their calling and election.

Election and #faithfulness in #obedience are not contradictory principles.
