Space Journey / Tesla

Risograph, inspired by the movement pattern of the Tesla (white) launched into space by Elon Musk as a PR stunt in 2018, the blue line shows the orbit of the Earth, the yellow line that of Mars.

The work was realized during an Artist-in-Science Residency of the artist at the European Space Agency (ESA) hosted by Kultur einer Digitalstadt in Darmstadt in 2022.

The print was produced by Herr und Frau Rio in Munich and is a limited, signed and numbered edition.

We see a print in a passe-partout framed in a light-coloured wooden frame. The print is an orange-coloured surface on which three circles are depicted. One circle is white, one is blue and the third is yellow. The blue circle lies inside the white circle and touches its line at one point, the white circle lies mostly inside the yellow circle and crosses its line at two points. The blue line describes the orbit of the Earth, the yellow one that of Mars. The white line shows the trajectory of a Tesla, which was launched into space by Elon Musk as a PR stunt in 2018. The work was realized by the German conceptual artist Swaantje Güntzel and produced by the design studio Herr und Frau Rio in Munich as a risography print.
