It might not even have passed mid-winter yet, but the spring bulbs have already been planted in the ornamental flower beds in Victoria Park in the west of Glasgow.

Fritillaria uva-vulpis - thought I’d bought some purple fritillary, snake's head but these appeared - some mixup in the labelling - hey ho still delicate and beautiful and make a fine picture

I went up to check on that special woodland spot and yes! The winter aconites are in bloom. Not native but they’ve naturalized in those woods so still cool to find! #flowers #SpringBulbs #BloomScrolling

A woodland floor covered with dry brown leaves. Sunlight is pouring in from the back of the shot and from between the leaves many small bright yellow flowers with a sort of skirt of green leaves have emerged from between the dead leaves. The sunlight is striking them so it looks like each one is glowing. Something about them makes it look as if they're overjoyed to be above ground at last.

Finished planting the bulbs for spring on Friday and Saturday.Really happy with the combinations for the lasagne pots and the single planted tulip pots.
