What would normally take 5-10 minutes to procure and install the .exe for an older version, has now taken over 30 minutes and not yet done... ugh.
I haven't installed #Microsoft SSMS since version 19... all I want is an offline installer, not this bootstrapper #PoS. The systems I'm working with do not have internet access and I just need to copy over the .exe through an RDP session.

One of the most #useless search functions in any software application ever written and published ever, surely must be, imho, the one in the Object Explorer of #microsoft #ssms #sqlservermanagementstudio . Yes, it displays results if found... and then won't let you do anything with that knowledge.
Looking for a view or stored procedure? Found here! But no link, no click to access, no open, no nothing. You get a path.

No dark mode for SSMS?
SQL Shades to the rescue!
Free version adds plain dark mode to the IDE (fine by me.) Paid version supports additional themes.
This solution is cleaner than the rather hacky approach of modifying ssms.pkgundef to restore a half-finished dark theme commented out by SSMS developers apparently at the last moment.
