Has anyone made both YouTube and Twitch alerts work at the same time with #StreamerBot (especially on #Linux with wine)?

Post stream I ...
- Lost Streamer.bot entirely and had to redo EVERY TRIGGER with a fresh installation
- Lost Steam entirely and had to restart to get it working again
- Bricked my PC twice and had to hard restart

I am, under no circumstances, touching Lutris again. Nothing worked. It gave me Arch installation flashbacks. No thanks. I'll stick with my precious terminal, lines of hand-written code, and wine chugging along on version 10.0 happily. If anything touches my precious streamer.bot again, I'm gonna go full Villian.

I've been toying with the idea of creating videos that demo some of the interactive elements of my streams, take a deep dive into how they were built, and then wax lyrical on what I expected would happen with them once I gave my community access

I'm not sure if there'd be much interest in that as it's a little behind the curtain and use of #StreamerBot might fly over the heads of non-users. Might do it anyway as a way to build my presentation and editing skills.

Streamer.bot is a great tool for streamers on the big platforms like Twitch and YouTube (I use it myself!), but it lacks official support for open source platforms like #Owncast and it would be great to see this added.

That's why I've submitted a suggestion for it on their ideas page, and it would great if you could vote as well! It's only got a single lonely vote which I'm pretty sure is mine for suggesting it. 😅

Spent the evening teaching #StreamerBot how to speak #Owncast, and feeling very happy with the results.

Currently using naughty internal API endpoints (and honestly, I'm not sure how you're supposed to write meaningful integrations without doing this -- the public ones are so limiting!), so will wait until 0.2.0 comes out before publishing.

Total local ownership of your streams with real tools gets a little closer every day.

Intrigued to see that the update to #StreamerBot includes integration with #MeldStudio. I recall it being tried out by some streamer influencers but it not making waves. Not sure if its the Next Big Thing and will surpass #obs_studio - anyone want to share their experience with it?

Pulling my hair out attempting to get my Song Request redeem on Twitch to pause via Streamer.bot when Spotify has stopped playing, and then unpause when Spotify starts playing again.

Spent the last couple of hours trying to get it working to no avail. 🤦‍♂️

A while ago, I tried to make a chat command using #StreamerBot that would respond with the amount of time a person had been following me on #Twitch - the first time I attempted it, I just couldn't get it to work ⏩ to today and I realised a critical error, I hadn't appreciated that the follow age data is pulled using a separate sub-action from the add target data for normal user redemptions. So now, it looks like typing: !followage in my chat will give the correct result 🥳

It was only from re-reading StreamerBot's documentation that I realised my error. It's right there in black & white as a separate sub-action entry. Just like my teachers said in secondary/high school, I need to read stuff more than once to understand properly 😅

Annoyingly a lot of the interactions I had set up in #obs_studio from #StreamerBot weren't working this stream so apologies for that - I didn't clock that the recent OBS update would have changed the websocket settings.

If you run into similiar issues #streamers, then you should check the settings under the Tools menu for your updated websocket

I came up with a way of having a chat overlay for my #stream where the text floats in and out of visibility 😎 It's shown here in the bottom-left where some testing chat text scrolls upwards. All done using #obs_studio and #StreamerBot.

The only thing that concerns me that the polling rate for chat sometimes pulls messages out of order but that's an issue with Twitch's API I think. I'm #SmallStreamer though so it's unlikely to cause problems.

Otherwise I'll be putting this new feature through it's paces on Weds 20:30 GMT 📅

🍿 January started the year with the unveiling of a major change to how my camera is shown on the stream and the addition of glow/stroke sound activated effects. Under the hood it uses a #OBSStudio plugin to dynamic change shape of the mask. My voice's audio is used to effect the outline. And if I'm on voice comms with friends? Their voice audio effects the glow intensity.

🍿 For February, the deaths/pushup counter I use was revamped. Previously the counter was pretty simple - count was written to a text file and incremented/decremented each time. A very basic animation was played to cover the number update on the stream. Now though, number is no longer held in a file but in #StreamerBot variable. StreamerBot is used to add or decrease by a specific number instead of just one and the count itself is animated to transform to the new figure. Plus I added a cute xylophone SFX 🌈

Personally. I've have been looking forward to the full integration with #SpeakerBot that this update brings. It does mean that I'll likely need to spend Tues night tinkering though.
