I heard an interesting legal analysis by a #TalkingHead last night on #CNN regarding #NickReiner's defense of the murder charges filed against him.
1) Nick has no money. So who is paying for the expensive hi-profile attorney representing him? The Talking Head suspected that his family is footing the bill but I doubt that. More likely, the attorney is taking the case "pro bono" for the publicity.
2) The defenses strategy is already clear . . . delay, delay, delay.
They've already done this by requesting & getting a delay of the arraignment until Jan 7th.
The next step is to plead insanity & to request an psychological assessment to determine if Nick has the mental capacity to stand trial or not.
If the judge decides based on "expert testimony" that he is not competent enough to stand trial, he will be sent to the mental lockup facility at Atascaderco for "treatment."
So, it could take years, if not decades, before the case goes to trial, if it ever does. 🤷♂️
