Covid-Safe Mitigation and Risk Assessment
Since Covid's emergence on the global scene in 2020, we've been encouraged to do our own risk assessment. In the intervening years, the public health tools for gauging risk—widespread testing, case tracking, and vaccine maintenance—have largely dried up or have been made inaccessible to the general public. For those of us who have not run out of our abundance of caution, there are several methods of virus mitigation still available. Whether you're a hardcore holdout or ready to avoid reinfection, we've accumulated a variety of resources to help you stay as Covid-free as possible under the circumstances.
Learn more about the variety of respirators and Covid tests, sort out some confusion over vaccine efficacy and availability, and discover burgeoning virus mitigation tools. Find out how CO2 measurements relate to Covid risk and what you can do to filter the air you breathe. Track available Covid trends in your region and calculate your risk in certain environments and situations. Learn how to prepare for and protect against future infections with guides from experts and folks with firsthand experience.

Telegraph: "(they) believed they were watching a massacre in real time"

Overwhelmed ICUs, no PPE left, horrible lonely deaths, fridge trucks used as morgues.

Endless gaslighting.

We just supposed to forget all that?

In the US, a solid million people were just swept away into death, so many the poor overworked Grim Reaper had to resort to using a fucking leaf blower.

Go fall into the sun, Telegraph.

SARS-CoV-2 spike protein causes synaptic dysfunction and p-tau and α-synuclein aggregation leading cognitive impairment: The protective role of metformin — Hye-Kyung Lee et al.
Rodent study. "S1 treatment led to a marked decrease in the expression of GRIN2A, JPH3, SHANK1, and GRIA2, whereas concurrent metformin treatment restored these levels to control values, suggesting a protective effect against S1-induced synaptic alterations."

‘Person’ had a GP appointment this week. I don’t know what led to the doctor commenting that she’d seen a lot of people with ‘flu recently but person (wearing an N95) almost choked at the doctor’s (literally) barefaced comment.

We’ve had an ‘in joke’ for a while now… Person says “Hmmm… If only there was a solution to mitigate against infection…” We then roll our eyes in disgust/snigger depending on our mood.

There's a tiny uptick in #COVID cases in #NYC, but #COVID19 deaths are down to 20 in the month of November! As far as I'm concerned, #COVIDIsNotOver until we go at least a month with no deaths, but this year has been encouraging!

But it's #FluSeason and #flu cases have already passed last year's peak. The #RSV wave seems to be tapering off, or at least rising more slowly.

I hosted in-person karaoke this week, but I still #WearAMask in elevators, trains, doctors' offices and supermarkets!

#CDC's most recent dataset, updated today, shows three XFG subvariants, broken out last month, outpacing growth of parent and remaining siblings.

Meanwhile, XFZ and XFV, both recombinants themselves descended from prior recombinants of LF.7 (XFC and XFG, respectively) are shown as quickly gaining in combined share.

Note that, in absence of robust data from states, CDC has given up modeling historical estimates, instead giving only shares of reported sequences.

Raj's dashboard, updated near a month ago, showed Stratus dynasty with diversified XFG.3 family at plurality, accounting for quarter of all samples. Notably, GISAID submissions didn't reflect CDC's estimated growth of XFZ & XFV recombinants.

GISAID data for the most recent four-week period was dominated by paltry submissions from New York (80 sequences), followed by Maryland (45), Colorado (41), Minnesota (33), and Illinois (26).

If healthcare decision-makers know that masks in hospitals etc. save people from getting sick, why don't they require masks all the time?

Because the people who get sick the rest of the time are people they are fine with killing or disabling. They are acceptable losses. People that healthcare decision makers feel like society can live without.

Running healthcare on a principle of acceptable losses is not triage. It's not "realism". It's eugenics. It's fascism.

I just have to say this every now and then to affirm that this is what's happening here in Canada. Our leaders are avid supporters of and believers in eugenics.

Bulletin hebdo SPF semaine 50 (du 8 au 14 décermbre)

santepubliquefrance.fr/maladie

75 décès certifiés électroniquement avec mention de Covid ;
Au moins 130 décès certifiés électroniquement avec mention de Grippe ;
