I think A Quality of Mercy is a little bit of proof of concept for this.

Imagine how much harder an episode like Operation: Annihilate! or Amok Time would hit with a Sam Kirk or T’Pring that we’ve had a relationship with for years instead of since the beginning of the episode. #StarTrek #SNW #TOS

There are two thoughts that I had had previously about the future of #StarTrek, but I had never really synthesized until today.

Thought 1: It would be fun if a post Strange New Worlds show (or movie) used further bits of the opening narration as a subtitle.

Thought 2: I love Strange New Worlds and will be very happy if it or some future follow-up goes right on into the Kirk era in the same style.

Synthesis: Star Trek: New Life would be a perfect title for a series with new and retold stories from Kirk’s tenure on the Enterprise with actors/sets/style of #SNW.

This #TOS coffee cup and other similar grey/white cups appear in several episodes, with some looking very much like today's common polystyrene disposable cups, but I do not know how common those actually were in the late 1960s.

Is the Master Replica representative of the original prop materials? Were there different variations on the TOS coffee cup? Was #StarTrek using "futuristic" foam cups like "futuristic" spray bottles?
