Instead of isolating us from the world, how about we design buildings and infrastructure to invite the world into our spaces. Dappled sunlight through a canopy of leaves rather than dim shadows cast by a sun blocked out by ungodly skyscrapers. Walking paths instead of roads. Trolleys and buses instead of cars. Open air markets instead of parking lots. Gardens instead of office parks.

Imagine what we could accomplish if we didn't have to spend all our time slaving for a system from which we will derive no personal benefit...
