A #FlowerHead on a Dwarf Barbados #Cherry #Tree.
Native to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, the small #tree has spread across Central America and the #Caribbean, and even to #Florida and Texas.
The #flowers are small and delicate, and will develop into a small, edible fruit.
Despite being a dwarf #varietal, it is very water-hungy.

#Campsisradicans, known as #trumpetvine or #trumpetcreeper is a #flowering #vine native to the eastern #US, including #Florida.
Its names refer to the #roots that spring from nodes on the vine. These roots take hold of anything they can grasp, from the ground, to wood to concrete, and spread. If they can get nutrients from what they’re growing in, the vine might not even need roots in the ground. They can grow from roots in #arbors or even #telephonepoles, and can #destroy both in the process of growing.
It grows aggressively and is widely regarded as a pest to be eradicated in its native habitat. It can be an #invasiveplant in certain regions.
The #showy #red #flowers are a result of #human-directed #selectivebreeding and the #varietal is called “Mme Galen.”

@megmaker At Château des Fines Roches we tasted a 100% Vaccarèse #Châteauneuf. I mentioned that Tablas Creek bottled a #varietal Vaccarèse, and the proprietor said, I know, we've exchanged bottles. #wine #Rhône #RhôneRangers

Photo of the back label of a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Château des Fines Roches. A paragraph in French explains how the wine is made from the "forgotten variety" Vaccarèse.
