#WandaJackson s Studio-Album #IveGottaSing erschien im Februar 1971 über Capitol Records und erreichte Platz 19 der Billboard Country Charts. Having asked friends for a favorite Brenda Lee song, one selected "All Alone Am I" along with "Sweet Nothin's." "Sweet Nothin's" has been covered by quite a variety of acts, from The Searchers (1963) to the Duke Robillard Band (2019), with the Pete Best Band(!), Burton Cummings, Wanda Jackson, and Diana Ross in between. I guess Brenda got their attention. Brenda did the best version of "Killing Me Softly" I have heard.

The Roberta Flack hit has annoying percussion and the Fugees hit has gotten lots of airplay and it has worn out its welcome. Judging from Amazon and Bandcamp searches, evidently Brenda's version is currently not available for purchase. I heard Brenda Lee at the Bangor Fair in Maine and I'll never forget it. It was outdoors in bright sun and she related one of her songs to what rock 'n' roll was like in the 1960s. She is one of the few early 60s stars still with us.

Why now deceased Aunt Ollie loved Wanda Jackson. That’s where I first heard her; one of the many weekends spent at her house in my much younger years.

My Aunt loved the title track here, and it’s amazing how something you heard when you were four or five years old can stick with you your whole life.

Harlan Howard 1962. Inspelad av Johnny Cash för albumet Blood, Sweat and Tears från 1963. Inspelad även av Ray Charles samma år. Många har tolkat låten. Till och med Nazareth på albumet Expect no Mercy från 1977.
