My kid (19 years old) has started playing #Witcher 3. Watching them play is *fascinating*. They make choices based on instinct and snap decisions.

They've already gotten locked out of Crow's Perch for murdering a bunch of the Baron's men which isn't something I even knew you could do.

Boah ey, da kann man sich nur noch an den Kopp fassen, wenn Leute sich von "Wokeness" distanzieren wollen, weil sie rechte Narrative einfach übernehmen. Dann aber ihr Werk als "nicht woke" deklarieren, weil es an das Original anknüpft, das aber wiederum von den üblichen Verdächtigen garantiert unter (böse) "woke" fallen würde.

Und sie bemerken diese Widersprüchlichkeit nicht einmal. Es ist einfach nur noch albern.

Somehow, I've never watched Seven Samurai. It seems to be consistently ranked as one of the best films ever made, and I've always meant to make time for it.

Well, my #witcher #ttrpg players have forced my hand, as they've put themselves in a situation where they're having to defend a small farming village in the mountains against Nilfgaardian scouts and mages. They've been training the villagers and making defences. If it's a coincidence it's an impressive one.

I'm watching it on Thursday...

In today's #Witcher session, our party are preparing for winter in a remote village in the Kestrel mountains.

Our Witcher has been passing time in the mountains with the village goat-herders, watching smoke rising in the south as Nilfgaard advance through Kaedwen.

He suggested flags to communicate between mountain look-outs and the folk in the village.

My GM world-building brain kicked in, and the goatherd responded by whistling loudly down the mountain...

I had been expecting to play D&D tomorrow, but have been asked if I can run my #witcher game instead. I hadn't planned anything but I'll come up with something.

We'd left it with a village full of farmers, carpenters and woodcutters, barely-convinced that the troll in the mountains wasn't a threat and actually they could make an alliance with him. Our characters were about to lead some villagers up to talk to the troll, so we'll see how that goes...
