My PC, which is *not* ancient, doesn't have a TPM, and thus is ineligible to upgrade to Windows 11. Every time they spam me with these scare notices, all I see is "buy a new computer OR ELSE".

Meanwhile I'm over here on Linux humming along just fine.

@techlore My head-canon and things I've seen on Linux subreddits lead me to think people have been falling out of love for Windows and Microsoft because of Copilot and how invasive ads/popups have gotten on the platform.

I played with Ubuntu Linux in college, but rarely daily-drove it, so I leaned further into Windows-ecosystem because it was familiar and supported my games/apps.

I few years ago, I worked at a public power company and visited a lot of manufacturing companies' plants and offices to meet customers of said power company in town. I saw the poor working conditions in some and witnessed the drama dealing with people like "the rich guy on the mountain that owns blah blah is upset he has to pay the power bill for his 1MW factory". I kept learning how capitalism can really ruin things!

The recent US election was one of the final straws. I was already pretty much a liberal, but there is no doubt now lol. It showed me how much power individuals can wield and how intertwined politics I don't agree with and big tech can get. I also got tired of the bloat of it all impacting my daily life. Very invasive!

Several months ago, in addition to other YouTubers and Redditors, I watched a lot of your video's to help me start escaping big tech! @techlore
I have built self-hosted a private server, switched to daily-driving Fedora Linux, started using BitWarden and Proton Mail aliases, Yubikey'd all the things, and dove headfirst into the wonderful Linux/FOSS community! Thank you for the help! :linux:

Tonight was great. I tried dried Lychee for the first time, which was quite an experience! Feels like a bearded dragon I had in a past life, but somehow tastes like a grape mixed with a pear.

More importantly though, I have discovered slap bracelet rulers during our trip to Target this evening. Haha
