📜Our shared history of transatlantic science cooperation could give us lessons how we make it last for the future. We're looking forward to the Transatlantic Big Science Conference end of June. Find out more ➡️https://buff.ly/4bWSNsL @helmholtz
Kick-off for Startup Factory Hamburg: DESY is entering the next round of the nationwide “Startup Factories” flagship competition by @BMWK together with Universität Hamburg and TUHamburg 💪 . More info: https://buff.ly/3Vush4O
Is there more water in the Earth's interior than we thought? A new study shows that minerals might carry more water into the Earth’s deep mantle than previously assumed – and the Extreme Conditions Beamline at DESY's PETRA III played a key role.
Did you know that nobody knows how much water is contained in the Earth’s mantle and core, but it has a direct effect of life on Earth through heat, deformation, seismic activity and more?! --> https://buff.ly/4bIcl4J #geology #lightsource #H2O
In one month, Carnegie Science, DESY and @helmholtz will bring leading minds together to find new ways to strengthen transatlantic science cooperation.

Successful, passionate and curious about the unknown: female DESY researchers are inspiring role models - also when it comes to choosing a career! For the Intl Day of #WomeninScience (11/2), we are pleased to present some of them to you - from PhD student to director.
An int’l team using the European XFEL that included DESY scientists has found that #diamondrain on icy planets is more common and has an effect on their magnetic fields. DESY technologies in X-ray science and detectors were important for this result, provided via the EuXFEL user consortium HIBEF, which is led by @HZDR. The research team was led by @stanford SLAC scientist Mungo Frost. https://www.desy.de/news/news_search/index_eng.html?openDirectAnchor=3093&two_columns=0
@JensJot Hey, protein traffic is really terrible sometimes. Credit goes to Uni Hamburg researcher (and author on the paper) Ferdinand Otto.
New year, new research results: researchers from DESY and Universität Hamburg have found that medically relevant #gold #nanoparticles move faster than expected through crowded liquid biological matter.
