@Sh41 The Lego HZD set is what brought me into Lego in my 50s as a first timer (I never had it as a kid, never had a dark ages haha). I loved the build and take your time to savour it for sure! As a gamer it absolutely captivated me 🎮

My grandfather survived the #HalifaxExplosion and WWI and WWII.

Many did not. Flying glass blinded those not killed. People died of starvation or exposure, as it was winter; there were so many affected.
Help came from all over, from the USA and all over Canada. There are homes in #Halifax Hydrostone area with crooked foundations still.

I'm not close enough now to attend, but the Fort Needham Memorial Park holds a memorial every 6 Dec, if you are able to attend.

@Rasta Thanks for posting on the Halifax Explosion. I grew up in Halifax and we studied it every year in school as well as doing the memorial service. There is still metal debris from the ships embedded in rocks I found in Fleming Park (The Dingle) decades ago and reported. Quite the distance from the explosion centre!

A piece of line art done using the Zentangle practice. A black rectangular paper art tile divided along the diagonal into 2 large triangles. Each triangle is filled with smaller triangles that are filled with new patterns of circles and spirals. All the line art is done with gold metallic ink. There is white pastel chalk used for highlights, and some graphite added for texture.

@Psionmark I have mine with the Bonsai Tree as well, and I’m about to crack open the Himeji Castle set which will ideally be placed with them with some shelf rearranging haha Excellent to have The Great Wave! That’s on my wish list ♥️

I recently build the Tranquil Garden and wow was that a wonderful experience! Very relaxing and calming, and I was enamoured of the colours and build techniques. I change the positions of the trees and moveable objects daily and mini figures come and go ❤️ #Lego #AFOL #MyLifePerth #AFOL

The Lego Tranquil Garden completed and setup outside on my concrete steps. The build is of a Japanese garden with a brown and tan tea house, and a red bridge going over a blue stream with koi fish and stone lamps. Stone steps make up a path that leads around the set, passing by virtuous bamboo groves, cherry trees in bloom and stone lanterns.
