Last week was a good week for #orchid discoveries. Found a lone Highland Golden Moth on my trip. Such a lovely and vibrant yellow!
Passing through a field of everlastings, hard to pass up taking a few photos.
Another new (to me) #Orchid, Cinnamon Bells, a type of Potato Orchid. Named so because the flowers give off a cinnamon fragrance. Boil them, mash em....
More lovely sun orchids. Slightly on the purple side these ones. There were quite a few plants out with lots of buds open this week, makes for some beautiful sights.
Move over Caladenias it's time for the Sun Orchid to have its time in the........sun?
A new species for me, so happy I managed to find one! The Brown-Clubbed Spider-Orchid. Very pretty specimen this one, quite unique too.
@Broadfork i can assure you that my lower legs are acutely aware of how sharp his teeth are!
We've been using a little spray bottle, it's working quite well
@Beedazzled he's going to be a big lad that's for sure!
Bit of a change from my usual posting to introduce the newest member of the family. And I will say, do not let the good looks fool you, he is an actual hell hound!
One of the more unique looking orchids, the Purple Beard-Orchid. Must wonder how they come up with these names.
It's been an amazing season for the Wax-lip #orchid. See them everywhere I go, love it!
This would easily be one of my favourite #australian #birds . The Gang-Gang Cockatoo. Such great markings, and beautiful red head.
Some beautiful Caladenia #orchids from today.
Caladenia Fuscata - Dusky Fingers
Found as part of a quite impressive colony, lovely to see the plants doing well. The vibrant pink on them is really something to behold.
Was a good week for #birdsofprey , plenty of Kites, Kestrels and Eagles. The only decent photos I managed was of this Brown Falcon taking off in the afternoon light looking for one last snack before bed time.
Some lovely bright red heath in full bloom on a beautiful spring morning.
Some back light #photography from a while ago. Semitransparent petals hold the light in such an interesting way.
Not sure about the filter however, was had to make it work in the end.
