"Doesn't look sick"

Oh, we're doing prompts? Ok. If you were invited on the New Yorker #fiction podcast, which story would you want to read and discuss?

I'm very sorry to hear the news of Paul La Farge's passing. I did the transcription of his interview with E. Gary Gygax for his piece "Destroy All Monsters" published in The Believer. Sending so much love to all of his family and friends.

Have come to accept that it is physically impossible for me to hear I Dreamed A Dream without weeping.

Something good is going to happen tomorrow.

I'm still thinking about what I would like 2023 to look like. My hopes and dreams for the year. What is one word that represents what you hope your 2023 will be?

This is the news we need. My #bookshelves consist of a large cherry shelf that I bought at Kmart almost twenty years ago, a small dark mahogany shelf made by my father, and (my favorite) this low pine shelf on wheels with rough bark trim and wavy edges, also made by my father. 📚 nymag.com/strategist/article/s #Bookstodon

I'm deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kara Jane Spencer from #mecfs. What a beautiful soul. The people who continue to deny the existence of these illnesses should be ashamed of themselves. We will keep fighting. #pwME youtube.com/watch?v=KLm6lT3wBd

This year crushed me from beginning to end, but it was a good #writing year. Here is my #yearend #publication thread:

#HappyNewYear, #bookstodon!

Ok, what should my #newyear's #resolution be? Suggestions?

Like, you're confused, baby, what you've got there is another disappointing, little op-ed.

I am going to go read a book now!

If you need to introduce an article you wrote with a long, defensive thread on Twitter that regurgitates the same opinions-masked-as-journalism in the piece in an effort to explain/defend it, maybe it isn't a good article? But I shall mind my business. I have things to do.

Do people do end-of-year #publication lists here? Would you want to see mine? #bookstodon

I got myself a little Christmas present: A Line in the World: A Year on the North Sea Coast by Dorthe Nors #bookstodon

FB reminded me this morning of this little December story that Esquire invited me to do a long time ago. Enjoy this bit of #flashfiction #napkinfiction

I saw a #Christmas #heron today. Flying over the fish hatchery. A #lucky sight.

Hope you are all having a merry little Christmas. xo

Coming in from the well-below-freezing cold to the smell of #gingerbread #baking is 🌲✨❤️

Checked on car and it is ok so far. Really glad I did the extra work of putting those "sweaters" on my plants now.
