@cormullion code? Or a higher resolution would be nice, I would like to print it 😊.

I made some cards with DataFrames.jl and Luxor.jl. In previous years I used to calculate the data using Astro libraries, but recently I discovered that NASA supply all the relevant data in CSV format. 😂

Last little piece of the year 🎉 . In this one there is a question, what happened to the ozone hole? Did it just go away? Short ansawer, not yet. But, it's not getting worse and this is thanks to the world 🌍 coming together to solve the problem, proving that is possible to take action and repair human made impact in our world. Some positive news for a change 🕊 .

Motivated by the recent extreme snowfall in München. Here, the global patterns of snowfall. Data from @copernicusecmwf Code: https://github.com/lazarusA/LittlePieces @makie #julialang #datavis #datavisualization #snow #extremeweather #extremeevents
Today’s little piece is on how to do some basic cube #plotting. For this, I use some samples from @ClaireRobin et. al. work on how to #forecast #vegetation #greenness at fine resolution over Africa. DeepCube H2020 #visualization @makie Code: https://github.com/lazarusA/LittlePieces

We got pretty much nerd-sniped into this due the original post here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CvuyW-zuD6y/?img_index=1 and then soon after the tutorial by https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnmnelson/ See the output from @makie . #datavisualization #topography #germany #opensource #julialang
Since I became aware of the warming stripes, I've wanted to explore the data and see how bad it is. And it's worse than I thought; the differences at local scales are greater than that deceiving global 2-degree increase. Some regions exceed 7 degrees 😱. See all those black bumps and sinks? Yeah, there! #climatechange #extremeevents #extremeweather #showyourstripes #visualization #climatecrisis #climateemergency #climateaction
@owiecc I just re-exported a small subset from MERIT DEM into .h5. Namely, loaded the data into an array and save it again, so that anyone can reproduce the figure.
Some random inspiration for this one. This version is just lines. Done with @makie @sdanisch #code #programming #julialang #vis #art #fuji code available here: https://github.com/lazarusA/LittlePieces
Finally, the Makie project has a new website: http://makie.org! It shows Makie's capabilities and helps to attract stable funding so we can concentrate on new features and maintenance. If you are interested in collaborating, consultations, or sponsorship, we're looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks @LazaroAlonso for the great cover picture made with Makie :)
I have to repeat myself. Why isn't this on the headline of all newspapers?
Bioluminescent plankton stimulated by the lapping waves on a tropical island of the Maldives give this photo its magnificence, but to also have the Milky Way hovering overhead is simply remarkable
