Nostalgia pt. 5: Inside the studio of my 20" container some years back. These were good times – however on hot days in the summertime it was only possible to make music after the sun had set, because of intense heat... And in the winter I had to have a electric heater going all day, to avoid frost in my gear. Which was a fairly pricy ordeal. Worth it though😍😎💯

My ukulele wall! These 3 instruments are my key tools, in my composing and songwriting. They are pretty different instruments in different kinds of woods (mango, acacia and hawaiian koa), which have there own (to my ears at least) beautiful characteristics.

Nostalgia pt 4: This was the second studio we had in #Bhuset at #InstitutForX the setup was pretty basic, though we did get hold of the old #soundcraft mixer used at The Danish Opera house in #copenhagen... The state of it was pretty bad, but the channels that did work sounded great👌👍😅Fun fact – we had sound engineer from Ghana, fixing it at one point. He used a magic combo of motoroil and sunscreen, which did actually work for a while... Though the smell was grim🤣😱😅

Tour de studio pt 7: Now we have reached one of the fundamentals of my #homestudio... And that is of course the monitors. My choice landed upon a pair Genelec 8040 BPMs. I went from a pair of KRK Rokit 6 and even though that did their job for many years the Genelecs are beyond comparison! Yeah.... Okay... I know this isn't the most exciting image and that the filters aren't making it more interesting... However, this is probably one the tools I use the most. It's the inbuilt voice memo app on my somewhat outdated smartphone. I use this, mostly for melodies, but also when I get ideas for songs, bits of lyrics and the like. I once thought about buying a handheld cassette recorder, but must admit I was too stingy... I like old fashion... When I'm out of the studio, I carry pen and paper to scribble down notes. It's crucial when I come up with bits of lyrics or a nice melody.
