You don't need to use the official Mastodon apps, they're not the best way to use Mastodon. The official apps only arrived last year, and they were intended as "Fisher Price My First Mastodon" things with a restricted set of features.

Third party apps have been around longer than official ones, and include way more features. You can sign in with the same account on all apps.

I've just volunteered to do a bit of WordPress posting for an organisation. It's been two years since I logged into a site. Nothing much has changed, but I was navigating gingerly around it like an utter newbie. 😆
It came back to me quickly, and I got the blog posted for the week ahead.

I'm a writer from the UK. I do threads mocking the political fuck-ups of the week. I've also written bestselling books taking a longer view of UK politics since 2010. I try to make it funny, even though it really isn't.

So I'll mostly be writing about that on here. And dogs.

I spent 30 years as a director-level software dude, and still do software stuff half the time, cos books don't pay. Also a painter, drummer, boxer and cancer survivor.
