When you fill in your sensitive medical data to shop for health insurance, the last place you expect it to go is LinkedIn. @themarkup’s investigation indicates that Covered California did exactly that as part of an advertising campaign. Via trackers, LinkedIn received info about gender, ethnicity, marital status, how often site visitors saw their doctors, and whether they were pregnant.

Trump Argues Toy Shortages Easily Overcome By Making Servants Dance

WASHINGTON—Acknowledging that his tariff hikes could result in a frozen supply chain this holiday season, President Donald Trump claimed Friday that any toy shortages Americans experienced could be easily overcome by making the family’s servants dance for their children’s enjoyment. “Maybe instead of 30 dolls this Christmas, chi…

"You have companies using #copyright-protected material to create a product that is capable of producing an infinite number of competing products," Chhabria told #Meta's attorneys. "You are dramatically changing, you might even say obliterating, the market for that person's work, & you're saying that you don't even have to pay a license to that person."

"I just don't understand how that can be #FairUse," Chhabria said.

About this RDP credential caching thing from @Nadsec ...

In its response to Wade’s report, Microsoft said it had updated online documentation here to make users better informed about the behavior.

A job done, Microsoft. Per your own documentation, there are two types of Interactive login:

  • Local and domain logon (direct physical access to the computer)
  • Remote logon (Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP))

At a glance, one might conclude that the warning in red on the Microsoft page does not apply to RDP, as RDP is clearly a Remote logon option and not a Local and domain logon.

However, if you go through the Local and domain logon words very carefully, you'll see that Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is part of Local and domain logon. 🤦‍♂️

Did I use RDS or RDP in my test? I honestly don't know. Both the client and the server simply say "Remote Desktop".

Am I being pedantic here? Perhaps. But if you're creating documentation for real-world users, you better make it CRYSTAL CLEAR what you're talking about. And I'll admit that I personally do not believe that this warning applies to Remote Desktop logins.

Yes, some people will say that "we all know this behavior". But we don't all know this. I'll bet dollars to donuts that I'm not the only person on the planet who is surprised by this behavior. And surprises in the infosec world are, how do I put this... not good.

Caution

When a user performs a local logon, their credentials are verified locally against a cached copy before being authenticated with an identity provider over the network. If the cache verification is successful, the user gains access to the desktop even if the device is offline. However, if the user changes their password in the cloud, the cached verifier is not updated, which means that they can still access their local machine using their old password.

Of all of the people living on Earth, only 4% are US citizens.

Less than 3% of the world's population are white US citizens.

Less than 1.8% of the world's people are white US citizens that support fascist, racist, policies.

The point: A very small number of people can make life awful for everyone.

The problem isn't "white people." Most white people on Earth don't choose this.

The problem isn't "Americans." Most Americans don't choose this either.

The problem isn't even "racist nazis." Most countries on Earth aren't silly enough to let the racist nazis be in charge, and aren't this strong.

Chronologically, we are closer to 2060 than to 1960. But ideologically, racist Americans would rather bring 1960 back, than progress to 2060.🤦🏿‍♂️

This is embarrassing.

The other 98.2% of the people on Earth reject this vision like a cat throwing up a hairball: vigorously, with much noise and retching.

Racism was a useful tool for adding to a nation's wealth in the 1800s and prior.

In the 1900s it was net neutral.

From this point on and into the future, racism is a negative that leads to a nation's downfall and decline. Some of you want to argue with me about this even as the US economy spirals.

The US is barely holding on after 100 days of our re-invigorated racism. Picture where we would be after 100 years of this mess.

We have exactly two choices:

1) Grow up. Get our racism under control.

2) Hang on to our precious racism, and go down with the ship as the world leaves us behind.

If you're thinking "How dare you call racism a useful tool!" or "We should end racism because it's the right thing to do, not to stop national decline!"

1st, unclutch your pearls, then unclench your cheeks.

2nd, I don't know if you've been paying attention, but US folk don't just do the right thing.

Still, #Trump claimed that the #Biden admin was spending millions to ‘make mice transgender’.…

#Agriculture Secy #BrookeRollins praised dipshit billionaire #ElonMusk for canceling the study of ‘transgender’ mice, which never happened.”

🤖 “Recording started with six attendees present on the call. They discussed their plans for the weekend. Elaine is thinking of going to the cinema but says there is nothing good on. Michael said he was going to the cinema that evening to see “The Accountant 2”. Dan will be celebrating a family birthday, an aunt who he doesn’t see much but should see more of. Suggested action items: Michael to report back to Elaine on “The Accountant 2”; Dan to call his aunt each month.”

Happy May Day! This is hand-pulled lino block print of the Jack-in-the-Green (or Jack o’ the Green) an English folk tradition for May Day. Wearing a conical or pyramidal wicker or wooden frame covered in foliage so as to conceal the wearer, the Jack-in-the-Green leads a May Day procession, dancing often with musicians and other figures. 🧵1/2
